Description
I2C signal converter for LCD display with HD44780 controller
Universal module enables control of 2X16, 4X20 alphanumeric display compatible with HD44780 via I2c bus.
The converter saves pins on the Arduino, using only two signal wires SCL and SDA from the TWI bus.
The converter is compatible with most LCD displays on the market.
The library, as well as all other information can be found in the section: Important links, we recommend that you carefully read all the information there.
I2C Converter Product Features
- I2C converter for display with HD44780 controller, so that only two lines – SDA and SCL – are needed to operate the screen
- The communication interface with the motherboard is the digital I2C bus
- Through the bus, from the Arduino you can control both the displayed text and the backlight, turning them on or off at any time.
- There is also a potentiometer on the board to adjust the contrast.
- The module contains the PCF8574 chip
- The supply voltage of the chip is 3.6V to 5V
- Possibility to control the backlight by software: lcd.backlight(); , lcd.noBacklight();
- Possibility to change the bus address by soldering jumpers A0, A1, A2
- The module has goldpin leads for easy soldering to the display
- The circuit has four leads and a jumper, which, when pulled out, disables the backlight of the screen.
