PTFE (Teflon) is one of the most thermally resistant plastics (can operate in a temperature range from -190 °C to +280 °C).

• At 260 °C, the degradation phenomenon is not yet observed, hence at this temperature PTFE retains most of its material characteristics.
• The noticeable degradation process of the plastic begins at a temperature of about. 400 °C
• PTFE (Teflon) is virtually resistant to almost all known elements and chemicals. It is not resistant only to alkali metals in its pure state, chlorine trifluoride and pure fluorine – when exposed to high temperature and pressure at the same time.
• PTFE samples exposed to varying weather conditions and sunlight (exposure period: more than 20 years) show no change in properties.
